Thanks to all for selling tockets and bigger thanks to the members who sold all their tickets.
  • In January we will place orders for Rotary polo shirts and long sleeve denim shirts. These will have the club logo similar to the shirts we had made about three years ago. Maryann Eberle is takign charge of this activity.
  • A prospective member has been approved by the board. His name is known to the members and after a ten day examination/waiting period to have members offer comments on the proposal membership will be extended to him.
  • Nominations for club offices and board memberships are being accepted. Please contact anyone on the nominating committee if you are interested.
  • Last week we lost the Club Web site when our Internet Provider of Server space went out of business. Through the kindness of a local Internet Service Provider (Centre of the Web) and my own business (Paul Rutter Web Design) Freelance Web Designthe club Web site is back on the Internet. The new address is http://www.centreweb.com/rotary/club/index.html. There are a few bugs to work out with files that are missing as a result of our old ISP going out of business without notice. I hope to have them back in place soon. Many thanks to Vicon for the three years of service we did get from them at no charge.
Previous Week's Speaker: Classification Talk Rainer Domalski

This past week we were fortunate to hear Rainers classification talk. Rainer was born in Germany in a state near France. In the 70’s he went to university that was 200 years old with only 2500 students. He studied geology and was graduated in 1979.
He met his wife in their home town and married in 1975. Their first child Michael was born in 1980 and a daughter was born in 1986. He went to work at a consulting firm for a coal mining company to look at the impact of grounddwater when starting a mine. Mines can go as far as 4500 feet in Germany.
He got involved with pollution and how to clean it up. Since Germany is smaller that the state of Texas, they must develop ways to treat contamination in site.He went to work for Reutgers in Germany, and came here in 1994 to start clean-up at Reutgerns-Nuese site. The company has spent 16 million so far. He works closely with the EPA and DEP.
Rainer
s wife works as a paraprofessional at Easterly Parkway Elementary. He enjoys the USA since the USA offers you the opportunities to do what you want as long as you have desire and drive. In Europe they force you into a job. He had aslo travelled to Turkey and Bangledesh in his work.
