Previous Week's Speaker: Club Assembly

We had a club assembly. One of the big items we talked about was the Rotary Foundation of our club, the new 501(c)3 organization from our club. The board of the foundation will be the president-elect, the president, and the immediate past president along with two elected person. The first two will be Judy Myrick and Rose Kauffman. We are still waiting state approval for the tax exempt authority.

Attendance last month was 64% so we can do better.

Jim D._____ was proposed for membership by Judy Myrick, Kelly and Chris Kerner. There ten days to blackball him or not.

The is a new member orientation scheduled for Friday the 14th at Perkins restaurant at 7:30 a.m. Past District Governor Carol Walsh will be your hostest. This is one of the things you need to fulfill to turn your badge from red to blue.

Ben Amato did a classification talk. It was more of a this is who I am talk and Ben is interesting. I wish he had brought his banjo.
Ben was born back in 1937 in Scranton, PA. When he was 16 he moved from the city to Pennsville. He said this along with his grandfather for a role model helped save him from being a part of the "deadend gang." He took up hunting and fishing.
Ben married his highschool sweetheart, Diane.
Ben played football at Scranton but when he transferred to Penn State he found out he wasn't so big. He earned a degree in health and a masters in rehab counseling. Ben taught for several years and coached wrestling and football before getting in to the sales business which he adores. Ben is a CFP.
Ben has 5 children, 8 grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren.
