another day with 27 cards left.You can buy three
chances for $2 now too, to make your chances better! Auction: We had two auction items this week. The first, from Dennis
Hampton, was a gift certificate to the corner room won by Paul Rutter
with a bid of $35. The second was a bag/box of foreign coins donated by
Marshall Goldstein that Dick Held won for a high bid of $25.

We need volunteers to work the gates for
the Virginia-PSU game on November 9. Ron Taverno will be posting an
announcement via the List Serv to tell about Football gate working.
There is 1 more opportunity to serve
after the Virginia game that will need workers. Call Ron
Taverno to sign up. It counts as a make-up and the club
earns cash!
Hugh Mose congratulated those members who
have been successful in selling their raffle tickets and announced
that all club members have received their allotted 19 to sell Hugh
was offering a scratch ticket to the next person to sell all 19 tickets.
Tom Murray was officially inducted in the
club today! On hand for the preseting of the pin was his wife Debbie.
Pat Coble, the memberrship chair and Carol Walsh who sponsored Tom's
membership assisted with the pinning.
The club has a list serv.

The fund raising
committee passed out tickets for use to sell for the cruise raffle.
The cruise doesn't have a date it has be taken within.
The value of the cruise is $3500.
Winners can arrange a round that. It should
be good enough though, for airfare from Harrisburg to a carribbean
cruise port, and a cruise of 7 days. The second prize is a 27"
color TV; 3rd prize is a cash award of $250.
Melissa Aungst told everyone about the million pennies drive at
he mall that Easter Seals is holding to raise money. The Easter Seals
are in need of volunteers to man the booth at the mall in three hour
shifts. The times to volunteer include most days from Thanksgiving
through December 21. Email Melissa

On November 12, there will be a Paul Harris
Presentation at the evening club by PDG Bus Fowler and Don Tressler.
All Paul Harris Fellows are asked to attend.
Nominations for District Governor Nominee
are being accepted. The year of service as Governor would be 2005-2006.

Our
speaker this week was our own Mark Whitfield. Mark took time out from
his busy tree limb cleaning up duties to have lunch and do his official
classification talk.He was born in Lebanon, PA and grew up in Myersdale
and Saxton, PA. He was graduated from Tussey Mountain highschool in
a class of 157 their largest during an era of economic struggles for
the appalachia parts of Pennsylvania. He has two sisters. His father
was a chemistry and physics teacher. In high school Mark was football
team and track team member. He sand with the agape signers and also
found time for scouting hwere he attained the Eagle Scout honor.
he went to school at PSU Mont Alto to study surveying and keep outside.
Upon finishing htere he took a job as a surveyor for a consulting
firm. He did that unitl his future mother-in-law saw an ad for an
opening with the boro for a surveyor. Mark got the job, continued
his studies at PSU, and moved up the chain o the level he is now that
of the director of public works.
Mark lives in the boro on S. Allen after having lived in Nittany Orchard
for many years. He is interested in his church, Mt. Nittany Methodist,
and is an avid PSU Icer fan. He has two kids, and his wife works at
the hospital.

Reminders on makeup's:
All makeup's are good for credit toward
meetings missed 14 days before or 14 days after the makeup. Makeup's made
at other Rotary Club meetings also get a dues credit. Makeup's at service
projects get attendance credit only. All makeup cards should be turned
into the club secretary promptly. To find out where you can makeup, check
