  • Previous Week's Speaker: Lannette Johnston (RN)

Lannette spoke to the club about patient advocacy. A patient advocate works for you as medical problems are experienced. This is a person who can help you understand medical issues and speak to you to make sure you understand what is going on medically. She let us know there are 98,000 deaths each year due to medical errors. You can research your ailments at http://www.nih.gov and you can investigate family medical history at www.familyhistory.hhs.gov. Bottom line ask questions and know what your medical people and medicines are about.

“If we only listen to those whom we already see eye to eye, we will never create better understanding, a concept that is at the core of Rotary.”
-Martin G Molony, District 1160 Governor, Dublin Central, Ireland
    in The Rotarian, January 2006

"Of the things we think, say or do:

    Is it the TRUTH?

Is it FAIR to all concerned?

Will it build GOODWILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS?

Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?"
