50/50: Charlie Hackett drew the two of hearts from a deck with 51 cards. I think this was a two week old pot.
Auction: Jana King and King Printing provided 500 business cards. The high bidder was Rose Kauffman at $28.

Happy Happy Bucks are funds paid to the club to speak up and tell all why you are happy!Bucks Laurel Sanders was happy about her daughter participating in her first horse show.


  • Roger Fetter thanked everyone who is helping on Fridays, picking up the food from the Farmers Market and delivering it to the Food Bank. Please let him know if you wish to help, every Friday from 5 to 6 p.m. until November.
  • Paul Rutter announced that we will be able to help during the home football games. He has ten passes for each game and 6 parking passes. Contact Paul if you wish to participate.
  • Kathy Brown announced that the invitations will be in the mail for the Rotary District Foundation Dinner, October 16. Jim Eberly thanked Kathy Brown and Carol for organizing the dinner and urged
    everyone to attend the event.
  • Jim Eberly also announced that there is advertising space available in the programs for the Foundation Dinner. Different sizes and prices are available.
  • We are looking for space in Rotarians’ homes for those guests attending the dinner who may prefer to stay wit a local Rotarian. For others, rooms can be reserved at Ramada.
  • President Bob Williams announced that District Foundation Training is scheduled for Sept. 11 at Arena, Bedford. If you wish to attend please contact Carol or Bob.
  • District Governor will be visiting our club on September 16. Please attend the
    meeting.
  • Rose Kauffman will represent our club during the Women’s Entrepreneurial
    Expo, Wed. Oct 6, from 10 till 11:30 at the Celebration Hall.
  • Bellefonte Golf Outing is scheduled for October 2.
  • Committees have been assigned. An email went out to club members.
  • Our club will be sponsoring the district conference in 2013
  • Brad Yeckley let us know there was sufficent interest in pursuing an idea for helping to line soccer fields
  • Polio Plus contribution match from Gates Foundation. Goal is $150 per club member.
  • An article in the State College Magazine highlights of efforts at the Farmers Market.
  • There was discussion about a joint fellowship meeting with the other Rotary clubs in the area.
  • If you are not receiving club emails via the listserv, contact Paul Rutter. The problem may be an incorrect email address on the club listserv directory.

    Membership:
    Meeting will be on Wed, at 7:30 a.m. at the Corner Room. Committee will focus on
    recruiting, orientation and retention of members.

    Foundation:
    No report

    Youth Exchange:
    The first student will be arriving from Finland on the 10th. Two more will be following.
    They are from Sweden and Norway. Still looking for host families. Please volunteer.
    Our student who returned from Finland will talk to the club on Oct. 19.

    Group study exchange (GSE)
    Searching for a team leader to lead the group to Ukraine. Application is available on the
    Web site. GSE from Ukraine will be here mid May 2011.
