Brad Yeckley let us know there was sufficent interest in pursuing an
idea for helping to line soccer fields
September attendance was 74% (wow!)
Membership stands at 44, a new directory is being constructed.

Polio Plus contribution match from Gates Foundation. Goal is $150 per club member.
DG White urges every member every year contribution to the foundation.

Fellowship Ale House Happy Hour on October 21; Wine Tasting at PDG Carol's on November 20. There will be a holiday party.
News about a basketball game for Rotary will be announced.

Memorial proposals to honor mayor Welch, a Walking History of State College people. For park detailing contribution to community erect signs providing information on walking trail.
PDG Carl put treasurers reports on each table.
Hugh Mose announced there will be no money from R.I. for the International
Project this year. But if we can raise 25% of funds needed, HUntingdon
doesh te same, others will match the remainder.

Chcuk Gambone celebrates his 21st anniversary of club membership
Jim Eberly has been nominated for district governor for 2012-2013
Dick Held will be chairing Polio Plus and the Foundation
District Governor Joe White will be visiting our club on September 10th.
Officers and Board members please arrive half-hour early to meet with
him.
There was discussion about a joint fellowship meeting with the other
Rotary clubs in the area.
Jim has given Carl $7,565 for the Dining & Entertainment Books.
Paul Rutter is still ahead in selling them. He has turned in the money
for 57 books. Keep selling them!
If you are not receiving club emails via the listserv, contact Paul
Rutter. The problem may be an incorrect email address on the club
listserv directory.
The club was able to sponsor someone for the GSE trip to Puerto Rico
this summer. The exchange is for Spanish language teachers. The one we
sponsored is Maggie Muir se instructa espanol para la colegio de State
College.
Thanks to everyone who has helped work
the gates before the PSU home football games in previous years. There
is time now to think about working the gates for 5 home games left this year.
Thanks to Roger Dunlop, Brad Schmitt, Kat Snowe (from our club) and husband
Dave from the breakfast club, and Tineke Cunning from the breakfast club,
Hugh Mose and wife Janyce, my wife Anne and many other helpers for helping
us fill the slate for some of the games this year. There are a few openings
left for the 2009 season. You get free field seats and
parking passes for helping. If you are interested in helping next year
for the 2009 season let me know to reserve your spot. For more information
on what we do and to be the list for next year ask Paul

Week's Speaker: Rotaract Club |
Matthew Lederman from the PSU Rotaract Club reported the club is very active with several fund raisers, flag football tourney, blood drive, etc.. Money raised has gone to THON.
They assist in the local Punt, Pass, and Kick competition
Support is also proviuded to Shavers Creek for a Halloween project.
They are formulating a plan for more interaction for the the three Rotary clubs.
Club members will attend the club assembly meetings.
