that he and Fabian finished the Red Moshannon Canoe race upright, dry,
and with both paddles.
Jim let us know that we sold over $3,000 of auction items at the spaghetti dinner. We served 420 plates too.
Membership count to date is 46
Treasurer's Report: Bills are all paid to date
More money is due in from the spaghetti dinner receipts
Year to date money total is $19,669.66
Public Relations: State College Magazine should have a report on Rotary, Farmers Market, and Food Bank relationship

Money from the auction sales is still coming in @$10,000 has been turned in to date on coupon book sales
Jim Eberly handed out a newspaper that was compiled by 5 clubs in the Hagerstown, MD area, suggested we look at it and think about doing s omething similar with the clubs in this vicinity
Foundation: A great program was given thanks to Carl
GSE: Bob Williams gave short report
Fellowship: Gary Brytczuk said that the annual picnic is scheduled for June 14, a Sunday. More information to follow.
District Conference: 4 days spent in the Cumberland, MD area. One of the highlights was the Youth Exchange Program. Also, our club won an “Honorable Mention” Award for our “per capita” donations towards the Polio Project.
An area business has donated $250 towards the “Polio Project” to be matched by club members
GSE team from Puerto Rico will be here June 9-12; the GSE cookout at
Paul's hunting camp is June 9.
Attendance was 63% with 47 members.
Jim Eberly will be the assistant governor next year. We need a new fund
raising chairman or to split the duties up Jim has given Carl $7,565 for the Dining & Entertainment Books.
Paul Rutter is still ahead. He has turned in the money for 54 books. Keep
selling them!
The GSE team for Denmark interviews are set. Glenn White who was sponsored
by our club is one of the finalists. Glenn was recommended by Harry Zimbler.
Thank you letters from 3rd graders were passed around. (Dictionary Project).
And speaking of dictionaries, Mark M, let us know that a total of 367
dictionaries were delivered to area 3rd graders.

Rutter. The problem may be an incorrect email address on the club
listserv directory.
We didn't get attendance figures for the past month but in the event
it is low again, please help raise our attendance using virtual club make-ups
by going to one of the e-Clubs.
Sam J. was proposed as a new member by the board of directors. He will
be coming from the Bellefonte club. Members have 10 days to comment on
his proposal to join our club.
Rotaract on Penn State's campus is soliciting help to increase membership.
The club was able to sponsor someone for the GSE trip to Puerto Rico
this summer. The exchange is for Spanish language teachers.
Teresa and Doug have both resigned due to work load issues.
Carl said dues statements are coming out, but why wait? It's $120 per
quarter and that includes your lunch each Thursday for 13 weeks!
Thanks to everyone who has helped work
the gates before the PSU home football games. There are no more openings
for helping this year. Thanks to Roger Dunlop, Kat Snowe (from our club)
and husband Dave from the breakfast club, Bob Williams, Fabian Meinke
(our RYEX student), Hugh Mose and wife Janyce, Nicole Webster from the
breakfast club, Tineke Cuning and husband Jack from breakfast club, my
wife Anne, Meg Moose for having one of her colleagues and many other helpers
for helping
us fill the slate for all games. You get free field seats and
parking passes for helping. If you are interested in helping next year
for the 2009 season let me know to reserve your spot. For more information
on what we do and to be the list for next year ask Paul

Polio Plus Challenge - The $1,000 Anonymous donation was sent in from
outside the club, not from a club member. Currently, 9 members have donated
matching funds up to $570. We need more donations from Club members to
hit the $1,000.

Rotaract member, Matthew Letterman, a Junior in Information Technology, introduced his fellow Rotaract member, Peter Corralis, a Junior in Anthropology, and the 2 of them told of some of their projects.
They visit “The Oaks” retirement home in Pleasant Gap each Monday and interact with the residents. They have helped with the Red Cross Blood Drive and worked at the Relay for Life this past April 18 th .
Peter told of their International Project, “Concha” which is a program to fight Cerebral Palsy.
And, they will help with a 5-K race in September in conjunction with a Service Fraternity on campus.

All makeup's are good for credit toward
meetings missed 14 days before or 14 days after the makeup. Makeup's made
at other Rotary Club meetings also get a dues credit. Makeup's at service
projects get attendance credit only. All makeup cards should be turned
into the club secretary promptly. To find out where you can makeup, check
