  • Jana King reminded the club about the Chefs on Auction fund raising event for the March of Dimes.Tickets and more information are available by visiting the State College Magazine Web site.
  • You can buy three tries for the 50/50 drawing for $2 now. The pot is over $240 now with only 36 cards left.

  • We induscted a new member today. Scott Rawson was indiucted by Paul Bell. Scott is the executive director of Alpha Ambulance and a lot more. Say hello to Scott next meeting!
Previous Week's Speaker: Congressman Peterson with a legislative update

Our speaker today was Congressman Peterson with a legislative update. He is a Paul Harris fellow. He said he had the largest district. Most people want totalk about the economy but the media wants to talk about Iraq.
He helped Ed Pope in his trials to get free from Russian prisons.(and was successful)
Population was an issue. He talked about spending money for colleges only to have students leave after graduating. He said we need to educate not import people to fill the jobs.
He also mentioned competition in the health care fields and talked about high mal practice fees.

All makeup's are good for credit toward meetings missed 14 days before or 14 days after the makeup. Makeup's made at other Rotary Club meetings also get a dues credit. Makeup's at service projects get attendance credit only. All makeup cards should be turned into the club secretary promptly.
