Previous Week's Speaker: Classification Talks

We had two classification talks today from Dana Catalano and David Hellyer.
Dana and David both graduated from highschool in 1974 and the simialries end there.

Dana who spoke first, was born in Bellfonte in the old Willowbank Hospital. His father owneda weldign shop and later worked for Penn DOT. After highschool Dana spent the sumemr travelign to the west ocast and not being settled down yet, did not go to colelge right away. He workeda couple of different jobs but found his way to be graduated from the Williamsport Community College with a degree in architecture. While in college he was the student body president and wrestled.
Dana's first job out of colelge was wqith Secor and hhe said his career progressed through several building firms to Krieter Construction where he was the President and partner.about two years ago, he joined Poole Anderson Construction in a postion responsible for development of business.
He is married to Jean and has three children, Kristen 14, Hannah 8, and ____ 5. Dana lives near Toftrees and his hobby is working on his house and a camp near Snowshoe.

Our next speaker was David Hellyer. David attended the Universoity of Pittsburgh but was graduated from Westminster College. His first several jobs were as an accountant but he grew in to IT jobs and rose to becoming the general manager of Murata in State College. In September 2003 Murata was closed in Staet College and because David and his wife wanted to live in State College he left the company and started a business called Comfort Keepers.
David enjoys the opportunites of running his own business because it solves three ideas he had. One to work together with his partner;.to do something he could be proud of and do something for people.
David enjoys helping people because they are able to stay in their homes as opposed to moving to nursing homes where care may not be what one wants.
David is married- with a 25th anniversaycoming up on August 11. His daughter is 21 and will be a senior at James Madison University. Her greatest gift her father says is being on the 4 year plan-although she recently hinted at graduate school.

Both David and Dana have been active Rotarians so far and are a great addition to the club.
