The club needs home families for youth exchange students. A boy and
a girl.
Extra club money is being used this year for a second vocational scholarship
of $1500.
Thanks to all who found that working to clean up Lederer Park on a beautiful
spring day can be fun.
We are still looking for host families for the 2007-08 school year.
We have 2 exchange students on their way.
We are looking for feedback about a club picnic tentatively scheduled
for June 24, We need input on locations of Tudek, Lederer, or Someone's
backyard where adult beverages could be consumed. Cooking necessities
would have to be brought in. Contact Frank, Marshall, Jim E., Carol, Mary,
Rainer, or Pat with your input.
Bob Williams mentioned the district is forming a Foundation
Alumni group for persons, including non-Rotarians, that have been
a part of Rotary Foundation events like the GSE or the Ambassadorial Scholarships.
We are looking for hosts for inbound students for the youth exchange
for 2006-2007. Contact Laurel, Doug, or Carl if you are able to help out.
We are still collected closed-toe shoes for the Shoes for Nicaragua.
Don’t miss the District Conference on May 10-13 in Pittsburgh.

Pizza Party at Jim and Sue Eberly's at 6:30 on May 4th.; $5.00/person.
A sign-up sheet was passed around and will be available for the next few
meetings.
Maria Alisia was selected as the Whitewate Conference attendee.

Get your Spaghetti Dinner money into Jim!
We used placemats today from our Spaghetti Dinner. Please patronize
those businesses and remember to thank them for helping us.
The German GSE team will be arriving April 26. We will not be able to
host them at lunch, but we will will be hosting a meet and greet type
thing. Bob Williams is hosting one team member, others are being hosted
by members of the two other Rotary clubs. Paul Rutter hsoted a farewell
party for the team and committee at his hunting camp. The club GSE committee
is Paul Rutter, Bob Williams, Adrian Pratt, Russ Brooks, Dick Held, and
Jim Dayananda.
Hugh Mose was the winner of $10.50 with the closest guess on the number
of people served at the spaghetti dinner. The number of tickets collected
was 459.
There will be a 4-Way test speech contest at David Ostrich's synagogue
in which 4 SC high school students will compete at the end of the month.
GSE (Group Study Exchange): The team from Germany visited us for a few
days starting April 26, 2007. Their brief bios are: Lutheran minister
(team leader); age 52, male, married; Industrial sales for a sausage factory;
visit business school, retailers; age 32, male, single; Inport/export,
logistics solutions, Sales manager; age 31, male, single; Jeweler, creates,
journeyman goldsmith; age 28, female, single; Accountant, training instructor;
age 29, female, single; Export sales for industrial company; age 39, male,
married.
Our own foundation received a contribution from a member, honoring Buzz
Fowler. PDG Seymour "Bus" Fowler
passed away. Bus was an honorary member of our club.
The new Bellefonte Rotary club is now holding meetings on Fridays. PDG
Carol has the info.
Don Bedell is still collecting money in for Dining & Entertainment
Books. Please bring money in.
Marshall announced a change in date for our June Picnic in Tudek Park
from Sunday 6/24 to Saturday 6/23; details to follow closer to that time
 The
Entertainment Book has been
passed out.Get to work selling your allotment and more now! We rely on
the funds this raises to get our many philantropic tasks completed.
Carl Hill is a charter member of the District Paul Harris Fellowship,
a group that pledge to contribute $1000 each year to the Foundation.

PAWS is an organization of volunteers in Centre County, Pennsylvania,
committed to providing humane solutions to our area's pet overpopulation.
In order to care for these homeless cats and dogs and to promote responsible
pet ownership, PAWS maintains a noneuthanasia animal shelter and administers
a spay-neuter assistance program, an educational outreach program, and
emergency medical aid funding.
Many of the PAWS dogs available for adoption are shown from 12 to 2PM
every Sunday (weather permitting) outside the PAWS Adoption Center at
1042 Benner Pike, State College. We also show selected PAWS dogs on the
1st & 3rd Wednesdays of the month at Petco in State College from 5:30-7PM.

All makeup's are good for credit toward
meetings missed 14 days before or 14 days after the makeup. Makeup's made
at other Rotary Club meetings also get a dues credit. Makeup's at service
projects get attendance credit only. All makeup cards should be turned
