Week's Speaker: Jeffrey Zeiler of Z Bodies. |
Our guest speaker was Jeffrey Zeiler of Z Bodies. Jeffrey explained that as we get older, our bodies need high repetition exercises and we need to build our muscle mass to increase cardiovascular health, lessen our chances of having strokes and heart attacks, and increase our metabolism and overall strength. We tend to sit more and move our bodies less, and we lose an average of 1% of our muscle mass per year unless we make an effort to rebuild it. Jeffrey emphasized the need to build our muscle mass by doing two sets of ten to fifteen repetitions of a slow exercise that stretches your muscle strength. He also spoke about making healthy food choices. His company focuses on working with clients to strengthen their muscle mass, increase cardiovascular health, and develop a stronger, healthier body.
Darren Johnston thanked the speaker and presented him with a Rotary mug.
At 12:45, Rose Kauffman adjourned the meeting.
Notetaker: Laurel Sanders, on behalf of Linda Friedman

If
we only listen to those whom we already see eye to eye, we
will never create better understanding, a concept that is
at the core of Rotary.
