The big thing we did today was induct David Ostrich to the club. David is already a Paul Harris Fellow from his membership in a Rotary club in Pensacola, Florida. He has been in Savannah, Georgia and Mississippi previously. He is the new rabbi for the Jewish synagogue in State College. He is a graduate of Northwestern and Hebrew Union. David was proposed for membership by Marshall Goldstein.

Treasurer's report was passed out. If you have spaghetti money or coupon book money, please get those in.

Ambassadorial Scholar- Paul let us know that the board had approved our nominating Elliot Hershon for the scholarship. Elliot intends to study in Ghana. He is a graduate of State College High School and came with letters of recommendation from a Nobel Prize Laureate and the president of Tufts University.

The board approved $200 for the sunrise club's charter gift.

Special Olympics did not contact us to work for them during the games this week. The transportation office was also not contacted.

PDG Carol asked if a committee could be put together to celebrate the club's 20th anniverary.

Marshall Goldstein volunteered to chair the fellowship committee and asked for volunteers.

Terry Edwards and Ray Papale have resigned from the club. Ray will be joining the evening club.

“If we only listen to those whom we already see eye to eye, we will never create better understanding, a concept that is at the core of Rotary.”
-Martin G Molony, District 1160 Governor, Dublin Central, Ireland
    in The Rotarian, January 2006

"Of the things we think, say or do:

    Is it the TRUTH?

Is it FAIR to all concerned?

Will it build GOODWILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS?

Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?"
