We are still in need of home families for youth exchange next year.
Carl or Doug can give you more details. For the State College School District,
there is a boy from Argentina, and two girls- one from Belarus and one
from Japan. Home families are usually from August to Thanksgiving, Thanksgiving
to March, and March until June.
The Spring Lederer Park clean up was rescheduled and held on April 29.
Pam Ferguson chaired
this event.
The new international theme is "Lead the Way."
The District Conerence is May 4-6th.

Week's Speaker: Jake Corman spoke about
legislative matters |
Today we were fortunate to have Senator Jake Corman address the crowd.
Jake spoke mainly about broadband and healthcare issues
and fielded several questions related to healthcare. Jake did talk about
taxes and the tax shift from the current payers to whoever the new payers
would be. Oneof the interesting things he said about healthcare was
trying to look at both sides.
Note taker: Paul Rutter & Bob Williams

If
we only listen to those whom we already see eye to eye, we
will never create better understanding, a concept that is
at the core of Rotary.
-Martin G Molony, District 1160 Governor, Dublin Central,
Ireland
in The
Rotarian, January 2006
|
"Of
the things we think, say or do:
Is
it the TRUTH?
Is
it FAIR to all concerned?
Will
it build GOODWILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS?
Will
it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?"
