Previous Week's Speaker: Rotaract from Penn State University

Todd Bacastow, the club advisor and member of our club and Valerie Leitholf, a member of the PSU Rotaract club spoke to us about Rotaract.
The club was formed in 2001 with 7 members. The club has grown but Todd insists the club growth has been focussed on quality active membership not resumé padders.

Valerie discussed some of the programs the Rotaract club is involved with and talked about their most recent project, dancing in THON and of course raising money for the Four Diamonds fund. The marathon raised $3.6 million last year. This money covers the treatment needed to help children stricken with cancer. The children receive services at the Hershey Medical Center.

THON this year will be held February 26th and 27th, 2004. We can donate through a pledge card or attend the event and put money in cans.

Hugh thanked Valerie for speaking.

This week’s note taker: Ron Taverno
