  • About a month ago we lost the Club Web site when our Internet provider of server space went out of business. Through the kindness of a local Internet Service Provider (Centre of the Web) and my own business (Paul Rutter Web Design) the club Web site is back on the Internet. The new address is http://www.centreweb.com/rotary/club/ or http://www.sc-rotary.org. There are a few bugs to work out with files that are missing as a result of our old ISP going out of business without notice. I hope to have them back in place soon. Many thanks to Vicon for the three years of service we did get from them at no charge.
Previous Week's Speaker: Steve Biddle - the Benefits of Hypnotherapy

Mr. Biddle, a radio/TV personality, has after significant training established himself as a Hypnotherapists. His motivation came from his own successful experience with the use of hypnosis to modify his smoking habit.

Steve gave the group some background in the history of hypnosis. From the days in ancient Egypt through the time of Franz Mesmer, hypnosis has been associated with healing. He informed us that the Power is in the person and not the practitioner. What the practitioner does is guide the person to a level of deep relaxation where the subconscious mind can take over. Here positive changes can be suggested. He did inform us that no one can be made to do anything that he or she would not do normally. People are not put into trances and can remember all of the things that happen around them.

Chris Potalivo agreed to be a subject and Mr. Biddle took him into a level of deep relaxation.

The Club thanked Mr. Biddle for his time and information.
